The site is situated to the east of Xixiang Subway Station in Shenzhen City, facing Bao'an Avenue. Currently, the area is occupied by villagers' houses.
The urban planning objective is to redevelop the entire site, dividing it into six plots to include a primary school and kindergarten. The redevelopment aims to enhance land utilization and increase the site’s plot ratio while adhering to a height limit of 150 meters. Traffic planning ensures the separation of pedestrians and vehicles, with a focus on logical and efficient internal and external circulation.
Inspired by the concept of sea waves, the planning integrates curvilinear elements into the layout. Drawing from successful examples like Hong Kong’s Whampoa and Mei Foo Village developments, the design introduces double-frontage retail. The ground floor is dedicated to retail spaces to maximize commercial value, while residential entrances are elevated to the second floor. This arrangement aligns with the Canton style and optimizes the usability of retail areas.
Residential towers are staggered to maintain privacy and avoid direct views between units. Additionally, the roof of the second-floor podium features an open garden platform, which serves as a community activity center, fostering social interaction and recreational opportunities for residents.
